Can I use my Purewick pump?
Yes, Purewick pump is compatible with the UniSUC frame device. We do recommend purchasing UniSUC’s pump tubing which is better fitted for UniSUC’s frame device.
Can this be used for a wheelchair bound users?
Yes, it will work great for a wheelchair bound users! It will work optimally for users in the sitting position.
Will UniSUC be effective if you sleep on your side?
Yes, UniSUC works best for side sleepers when the user is positioned at a 20-30 degree angle, either with pillows or an adjustable bed, to ensure the fluids flow properly towards the device’s bottom tip.
How many times can the UniSUC frame be reused?
The UniSUC Frame is designed for reuse with the same patient only. Each frame has a designated marking area where the patient’s name, date, and caregiver’s initials should be written to ensure it is never used on another patient.The frame itself is reused while the disposable liner is changed regularly—typically every 8–12 hours, during shift changes, or whenever the liner becomes soiled. Between liner changes, the frame can be cleaned with soap and warm water or a disinfectant wipe.The frame is made from soft medical-grade PVC combined with 12-gauge copper wiring, giving it excellent shape memory and flexibility. It is built to withstand repeated flexing and shaping during normal use without cracking or breaking.
When to replace the frame:
– If it shows signs of degradation, such as cloudiness, discoloration, cracks, or becomes clogged with stool.
– If the frame becomes too stiff to reshape easily after repeated use.
In these cases, the frame should be replaced with a new one. Replacement frames are available in our shop.
What suction canister and tubing size will work with the UniSUC? For example, would a 1200cc canister with ¼ inch by 6ft tubing work?
The UniSUC Frame Device and Liner System is super flexible and works with any size of suction canister, as long as it’s hooked up to a vacuum source. The main thing to keep in mind is the canister’s capacity. The UniSUC vacuum port can fit tubing sizes from ¼ inch to ⅜ inch (or 6.4mm to 9.5mm), so the length of the tubing doesn’t impact how the system works. Any standard 1200cc canister and vacuum hose system used in hospitals should work just fine with the UniSUC. How to reduce suction machine slurping/gurling sound.
To reduce the slurping noise of a suction machine, position the machine below the bed or patient level for quieter operation.
Choosing between Left-Handed and Right-Handed UniSUC frames.
Choosing between Left-Handed and Right-Handed Frames depends largely on the user’s personal comfort and setup. A good starting point is to consider which side of the bed they typically sleep on, and where the Suction Machine will be placed. If the tubing resting on their torso isn’t an issue, the choice of frame may not matter much. However, if they tend to sleep on a specific side and place the Suction Machine nearby, opting for a frame that matches their sleeping side can help reduce tubing contact and improve overall comfort.

Troubleshooting Tips
The fluid collection system is operational, but no liquid is captured in the canister.
- Check the float valve located under the canister lid is not stuck and can freely move when lid is shaken.

- Check there are no cracks on the canister.
- Check the canister is airtight; the lid is closed with no air gaps and open lid ports.

- Check tubing connection endpoints are secure on the ports.
- Check there are no kinks and blockages in tubing.
- Check the overflow valve is not in the up position.
- Clean the system.
- Suction Test:
– Fill a pot with exactly 3 cups of water (about 710 ml).
– Do not connect the UniSUC frame to the tubing or canister yet.
– Use the Whisper system to suck the water directly from the pot.
– If it drains all 3 cups in 15–18 seconds, the Whisper pump is working properly. This means the problem is likely a blockage in the frame. Please check our warranty policy for a replacement frame. - Improper placement of the UniSUC frame can also cause leaks and not drain or capture the urine completely. Please visit our Resources page for hot tips and usage instructions.

Can I cancel my order?
At Alpepllc.com, orders are processed immediately upon placement and sent to fulfillment. Because of this, we are unable to make changes or cancellations once an order has shipped.
