The WHISPER Fluid Collection System is a home-model electric suction pump intended for use with external urine management systems. A commonly recognized HCPCS code for this category of device is E2001 (Suction pump, home model, portable or stationary, electric, any type, for use with external urine and/or fecal management system).
Compatible accessories may be billed separately under codes such as A7002 (Tubing, used with suction pump, each) for the suction tubing and A7001 (Canister, non-disposable, used with suction pump, each) for the collection canister.
Important Note: As of the latest PDAC Product Classification List, the WHISPER model has no specific HCPCS code assigned by PDAC. The codes referenced above are general codes applicable to this class of equipment based on CMS guidelines and precedent with similar external urine management systems. Coverage, reimbursement, and payment are not guaranteed and depend on individual payer policies, medical necessity documentation, and proper claim submission.
