Customer Experience Study

We strive to improve the efficacy of our products and services by collecting and evaluating feedback.

A survey, designed for patients and caregivers, is being conducted to assess satisfaction with UniSUC in comparison to other external catheters and treatment options available .

“Recently, our 97-year-old mom spent a week at Yale New Haven Hospital where they were using the Purewick System. Having seen the Purewick TV commercials in the last year and having considered purchasing, we were excited to see it in action. Though effective, it wasn’t perfect. Back home, we decided to purchase the Purewick At Home System for $525 but were highly disappointed in the results.

Here’s what I wish I knew before:

  1. The suction power in the home unit is only a fraction of what is provided at the hospital.
  2. No refunds are available after opening the $525 box.
  3. Despite calling customer service multiple times and performing suction tests, placement, among other tests, customer service determined that the box of wicks was faulty and shipped a new box of wicks. Needless to say, there was no improvement and the issue persisted even after a third box of wicks.

After researching hacks for Purewick and alternative systems, we discovered Unisuc. The results from the first night using Unisuc were tremendous! Unisuc captured an amount in the first night that Purewick did in a week. Not only is the initial Unisuc System less expensive, but the monthly maintenance costs are also close to 75% lower. On top of being more cost-effective overall, the Unisuc system works for males and wheelchair users. Lastly, my experience with Unisuc, a family-owned company, shows that it cares about its customers, unlike corporate-owned Purewick.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and assistance. it is truly appreciated!”

Better than Purewick!!
I am almost unable to express the level of my satisfaction and gratitude for the UniSUC external catheter system that I have been using for the past nine months. As a woman who is bedridden from a stroke, I have tried many different products and devices to manage my condition, but none of them were as comfortable, convenient, and effective as UniSUC. Before I discovered UniSUC, I was using the Purewick system, However, I found the Purewick system to be very expensive, disappointing and frustrating. It simply didn’t do what it was supposed to do. In contrast, UniSUC has been a major improvement in my quality of life. It keeps me dry all day long, is simple to use and at 1/3 the cost this is an absolute no-brainer. After I started using UniSUC, I have noticed a significant improvement in my quality of life. /Thank you for creating such a wonderful device that has changed my life for the better. I hope that more women will discover the benefits of UniSUC and experience the same relief and satisfaction that I have.

Color me absolutely shocked!

When I received the UniSuc trial package. I took one look at it and laughed. There’s no way this flimsy piece of what looks like an oversized empty teabag would work.

I was wrong.

I have now been using it for a few days and my Chux pad is still completely dry.

To give a little background, I have cerebral palsy and I’ve been using the Purewick for nearly a year and full-time since I broke my heel bone in March. Although, Purewick has given me a lot of freedom from using briefs or a bed pan, it’s always been a bit touch and go on its effectiveness to keep me dry. I just took being a bit leaky as a given.

Additionally, I’ve had some issues with chafing in some very tender areas.

So far, I’m not having any of those issues with the  UniSuc even when laying on my side. I am not even using a Poise pad as back up (which is what I usually do to keep my bed dry in addition to the Chux.)

I used UniSuc  with a PureWick suction pump for more than three days without a single leak. I laid on my back, my side, and I sat up several times without any problems.

Honestly, I could’ve probably used it even longer because it was not at all leaking or feeling soggy when I changed it. It is ridiculously easy to change and replace.

This is a spectacular win! I don’t think I’ve ever been so impressed with a medical device in my entire life.

“People should know there is an alternative to PureWick which is quite expensive. I just want to say how nice this product is in caring for my elderly mother. It has helped immensely in keeping her dry at night and has lessened our worries of reopening bed sores she got while in the hospital. Not to mention how nice it is that she is dry in the morning”

“Recently, our 97-year-old mom spent a week at Yale New Haven Hospital where they were using the Purewick System. Having seen the Purewick TV commercials in the last year and having considered purchasing, we were excited to see it “These folks have come up with a wonderful invention here, that solves all the problems that we have experienced with the PureWick product. Great people to deal with too, and they gave us personalized instructions and advice on top of very quick order processing and delivery”

I am using the Unisuc for my mom, and it is exceeding expectations, not leaking in contrast to Purewick.
One suggestion/request is could you consider offering the plastic triangle piece with an option for left or right side for the suction valve depending on which side of the bed/sleeping position people prefer. Otherwise the tube has to cross the body and it is more likely to slip or be under tension.
I ended up purchasing the purewick pump since it is more compact and has a battery backup. It is working quite well with your suction system.

Best,

Aloha, Great product, incredible shopping experience. I ordered your vacuum pump, starter kit, and one month supply of liners on Tuesday 1/2/2024. They arrived at my mailbox in Hawaii on Friday 1/5. I assembled the system and began using it for my wife the first night. Everything worked perfectly. Seriously life changing for me.
My wife had a stroke 2 1/2 years ago that made her left side nonresponsive and confined her to bed. I am her sole care giver 24/7. I normally get up for diaper changes during the night and have trouble going back to sleep. Your product allows me to skip the diaper changes and get a decent night’s sleep. I am more rested and better able to care for my wife. Important at my age (78.)
Her hospital used Pure Wick when she spent several weeks in ICU after the stroke, so we have firsthand experience with both products. Frankly, I think UniSUC is more dependable and easier to use than Pure Wick. And breathtakingly less expensive.
Problems… When I placed my order, you did not have Left Side frames available. I ordered one today. The Right-Side frame is a problem for the tubing run with her stroke condition and pump location. The hose has kinked a couple of times. The left side frame should arrive in a few days and will correct the problem.
Last night my pump stopped suction a couple of times. The pump runs, the gauge shows vacuum, but there isn’t any. I contacted the company and got an email response the same day. With their advice I was able to resolve the problem. I also discovered Pure Wick has YouTube videos to help resolve vacuum issues.
The pump is pretty noisy. I put the pump in our master bathroom and close the door at night. It helps, but I’m still looking on Amazon for something to reduce the noise.
Thank you again. Keep up the good work.
Aloha,

– James

I have recommended UniSuc to multiple nurses & CNAs who have attended my wife in the past year, and given the ad inserts to many of them. When people ask if it is something like PureWick, I tell them “Yes. The difference in UniSUC and PureWick is that UniSUC works!”

I have been using PureWick since December 2022. PureWick is unreliable.  Sometimes, I would completely flood my bed including underpads and diapers. The PureWick is easy to become dislodged.  I became so dissatisfied that I started looking for something better. It is true that PureWick is more expensive, but I did not care about the expense.  I just wanted a product where I could be dry in the mornings. While looking for something better, I saw the Unisuc system. At first(about several months ago), I thought, “no” that does not look like it will work. So I did not order it.  About 3 weeks ago after changing all my sheets and bedspread 2 days in a row, I said something has to be better.  So, I ordered the Unisuc beginner packet. When it first arrived, I thought no – too big.  But then, I followed the instructions exactly as stated.   And lo and behold, I love this system. If someone has any doubts, the beginner package is well worth the cost. Not being wet in the morning is worth ………

Thank you for your Unisuc system.  Initially I purchased a Purewick system.  A few weeks later I learned about the Unisuc system.  I was not terribly pleased with the Purewick,  so I ordered some of the Unisuc products.

The Unisuc frame and liners are much more comfortable than the sponges used with the Purewick system.

The Purewick sponges caused chafing, which was very uncomfortable.  Also, I experienced a lot of itching.

The price of the Purewick sponges is much too expensive for the average person’s income.  The Unisuc frame and liners are much more affordable.

These systems should be covered by insurance.  I’m sure that preventing bedsores is much cheaper than curing bedsores.  To say nothing of the pain that patients have to endure when they have bedsores.  This could all be alleviated with the use of these machines.

These systems produce a much more humane and dignified experience for patients.  They should be made available to everyone – not just everyone that can afford one.
